A futuristic watch design with continuous vertical lines, Kisai Online from Tokyoflash Japan uses a built in accelerometer to reveal the digital time.
Kisai Online includes time, date and alarm functions. Made of stainless steel, this design is available in black or silver in a choice of three cool LCD colors; natural, blue or red.

Kisai Online is a digital watch so is as easy to read as any other wrist watch. The "always on" LCD display is made up of vertical lines which look like a cryptic pattern to outsiders.
Turn the watch towards you and the lines fall away to reveal the time in hours and minutes. One push of the lower button changes the display to date mode which can be read in the same way as the time.
The digits that make up the time are easy to learn. The diagram below shows cryptic mode at the top and regular mode below. Click the buttons below to scroll through the numbers:
Each part of Kisai Online has been individually designed and engineered, including the stainless steel case, strap and uniquely programmed LCD display.
An animation mode is programmed into the watch. When activated the display will animate every two seconds.
Download the PDF instruction manual for a detailed explanation of all functions and settings or check out the video below for a hands on demonstration.

The fully adjustable strap makes the watch suitable for small and large wrists and the watch uses a standard CR2032 watch battery which will last at least 12 months and can easily be replaced.

Like all watches from Tokyoflash Japan, Kisai Online is a limited edition design which means that it is guaranteed to be an original design that not many other people own.

In February 2010, Tokyoflash Japan opened its Design Studio Blog to showcase concept designs and request ideas for new watch designs from fans. The idea for Kisai Online was submitted by Sam Jerichow from Germany and was voted as one of the most popular designs by fans. This is the seventh concept submitted by a fan to become reality.

Blog reader & watch designer Sam Jerichow says:
On the day I found out about the Design Studio Blog, my brain began to work instantly. It was like an unlocked door was kicked wide open for me. I had some experiences playing around with clockworks but I never found a way to let this interest grow. I submitted design after design to the blog and while the hope that one of them would be chosen to get made was kept on a fair level, the addiction of seeing an idea from my sketch book being featured online increased week by week.
When I received the message about ONLINE being chosen for production, I could do nothing but smile! I actually hopped on my chair!
Since then, the news has haunted my head every day. After some months I was shown the first illustration and was utterly impressed. The first product images then just blew my eyes off! I thought "These can never be beaten by renderings." Seeing something real after making so many virtual images, feels great. Now I can hold ONLINE, a real product based on an idea of mine in my own hands – offline if you will. What an irony! And this is just awesome!
Thank you everyone at Tokyoflash for this wonderful experience and for doing such a good job! Thank you to all who supported me and still do! I hope you appreciate this result of inspiration and effort, like I do.
