i LCD watches use a Liquid Crystal Display the same as regular digital watches. This means the display is always on without pressing a button.
LCD watches use a very low amount of power, so the battery can last for years.
Our LCD watches have either an LED backlight or EL backlight. An LED Backlight is powerful & will light up the display during the day or night. An LED Backlight uses a bit more power, so continued use can drain the battery faster. An EL Backlight (Electroluminescent) uses low power, but it is only effective at night.
