Kaidoku Wood LCD Watch

A limited edition wood watch that displays the time with words instead of numbers, Kisai Kaidoku Wood features a smart new stainless steel case, a custom made wooden strap and includes time, date and alarm.
A Cool Watch That Uses Words Instead Of Numbers
Kaidoku means to decode in Japanese but this watch needs no translation once you understand how it works. Look at the words that are flashing and read them in order to tell the time. The date can be read in exactly the same way by pressing the lower button. Take a look at the graphic below.
A Modern Wood Watch With A Custom Made Case And Strap
Kisai Kaidoku Wood has a newly designed stainless steel case which contrasts beautifully against the 100% natural wood strap. There are three models to choose from, dark sandalwood with blue LCD, red sandalwood with green LCD and maple with a purple LCD.
Like all wood watches from Tokyoflash Japan, a clear coating has been applied to Kisai Kaidoku Wood for protection.
A Wood Watch Designed For Small And Large Wrists
With a wide case and curved strap, Kisai Kaidoku is ideal for both small and large wrists. The color options are suited to both men and women and the watch is light weight, more like a modern bracelet than a time piece.
The links that make up the strap are individually made so the strap can be adjusted like a normal watch to fit your wrist perfectly. The watch uses a standard CR2016 watch battery which will last at least 12 months and can easily be replaced.
Time Mode, Date Mode, Alarm Mode, EL Backlighting
Simple in function, Kisai Kaidoku features date mode and alarm in addition to an electroluminescent (EL) backlight function for night time.
Press the upper button to illuminate the words. This function only works in dark conditions and is not as bright as LED lighting used in some watches.
Due to the natural qualities of wood, the color and grain may be slightly darker or lighter than shown in the photos.
Made of a natural material, Kisai Kaidoku Wood is light and comfortable to wear and every single watch has a unique color and grain pattern.

Blog reader & watch designer, Tynan Mayhew from Canada says:
When I first discovered Tokyoflash, I was fascinated with the watch designs. I followed the Tokyoflash design blog on Twitter, and checked it frequently.
When the Tokyoflash Design Challenge started, I had an idea. I wanted to create a watch design that told time in a completely different way, using words instead of numbers. I made a few sketches and uploaded the design. In a few days, a concept design had been posted, and I loved it. After a while, I forgot about it until I was contacted regarding my idea.
When I finally got to see the real thing, I was floored. It looked very sleek and smooth and like a lot of effort had been put into designing it.
